Transferring to CCS
Students who wish to transfer into a CCS major must apply: the steps are outlined on our website. We urge student to meet with us first before applying, and they can arrange an appointment by emailing info@ccs.ucsb.edu.

Savannah handles more complex student advising scenarios, ranging from students in crisis to graduation and matriculation into graduate programs. Note: Savannah will be on leave from mid-November through most of winter quarter.
Megan Peterson (megan.peterson@ccs.ucsb.edu), Staff Advsior
Megan meets with prospective students and families to answer application questions. Megan also helps current CCS students with GE selction questions and general petition inquiries.

GEAR (General Engineering Academic Requirements)
A guide for College of Engineering students with information about general education requirements, major requirements, major grids (four year plans), and critical policies and procedures.
College of Engineering Advising Website
Refer College of Engineering students to the website if they want to meet with a college advisor. The website has information including advisor contact information, information about programs, admissions (including change of major into COE), and BS/MS programs.
College of Engineering Forms
Forms students use for requesting deficit or excess programs, late or retroactive adds or drops from courses, credit clarification, etc. All College of Engineering students should use COE forms regardless of the type of request being made.
Change of Major into the College of Engineering Information
Current UCSB students in a non-engineering major, as well as students wishing to change from one engineering major to another, are welcome to apply after the satisfactory completion of a pre-defined set of coursework. However, due to the current demand for engineering majors, students are cautioned that it is a very competitive process and not all applicants will be able to change their majors due to limited space availability. Students admitted as transfer students may not petition to change or add an engineering major.

Individual Advisor Contacts
Any student may meet with any advisor in the College of Engineering. We also meet with students who are interested in changing majors into the College of Engineering. However, it is recommended that students meet with the department advisor for the major they are interested in changing into. Pre-law and pre-health students should consult pre-law and pre-health advisors in the College of Letters and Science for information specific to those goals.
